A great day in the big wide world . I watched at a movie theater in New Haven.
But look! My handknits made it to the ceremony.knitsat
In the ticketed standing area, my sis with her Aiblinn on the far left, and second from left, Lamar in the Lamar Scarf. I have it on authority the super large tam is there. Just not on his head at this moment. sigh. Six degrees rows stockinette of separation.

And on a much smaller, way less significant, more personal home baking and eating level, Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes continues to amaze.

Before, after , and as the challah disappeared.
Seriously, if I hadn't given up butter years ago, I'd be in major trouble.

O happy day is right! Love the photo of the balloons!

Yummmmm....I can't think of anything better than hot challah, fresh from the oven. Your's looks amazing. I can almost smell it from the West Coast. (running to Diamond Bakery on Fairfax Ave. now...)

O happy day, indeed!! I was wishing I had finished the socks for my brother-in-law who was somewhere on the Mall, with cold feet I'm sure.

That bread book is the only book on my Amazon wish-list that is NOT a knitting book. I'm going to have to break down and buy it.

I was thinking that there must have been a lot of great handknits in that crowd. Now I know there was!

Give.... give up BUTTER????

(Pardon me, I think I need to sit down. Oh, I already am...)

I can not compute. You must have the will of iron to eat warm, yummy, home made bread without the magical stuff.

I had a roommate once who suspected that if she put butter on a brick, I would eat it.

Thankfully, we never attempted the experiment.

Mmmm! Warm challah with honey and a little bit of salt. I think I need to go buy a loaf after work!!

Truly.

Gave up butter?

Gave up?

I'm sorry, but I don't know what those words mean together. Because it seems like you don't eat butter, but that can't be it because that would just be wrong.

Now I want to make challah. /sigh

total agreement on the happiness of the day and the loveliness of challah.

No butter? No butter? Just can't wrap my brain around that concept...
The other morning, my husband was watching me butter myself some toast. "So," he said, "the toast is just an efficient way to get the butter up to your mouth?"
Ummm...

Thanks for the heads up on that bread book. I just put it on my wish list. Looks great and there is nothing like fresh bread.
