cookie time : contest

My similar knits were saved by single mindedness: I gave the shawl a couple days of attention. It's in cast off stage now, in all its glorious Noro-ness. The asparagus Annette sweater's traveling to Florida with me in a few hours for some one-on-one attention. Because who wouldn't want to handle wool in Miami in August.
So ....what better time for a cookie break? How about chocolate chip?
ImperialCookies2
Last month I had the thrill of doing a photo shoot for my BFF, a professional in the restaurant & baking biz , a cookie baker extraordinaire who's just opened her new cookie business. You can find her on etsy at Imperial Cookies.

To celebrate, I'm having a virtual cookie tasting contest. Hustle on over to her etsy shop, read her descriptions, come back and leave me a comment here saying which one is your favorite flavor. Or...what you'd want to see when she adds her next cookie to the lineup.

Since I really want to share the cookie love, mention the contest on your blog, let me know that you did, and you get entered twice.
Leave your comments by midnight Sunday August 23rd.

There'll be two winners---because I can never decide on one of anything. Drawn randomly, and each winner gets a pound of Imperial Cookies cookies of your choice.
ImperialCookies1
Not that I'm trying to influence you, but these are incredibly good with tea. Or red wine.
Just saying.

  1. Those cookies look great!

"...what you'd want to see when she adds her next cookie to the lineup." --- Lavender. It sounds odd, but lavender scones are lovely so I hope lavender cookies would be too.

  2. i love a good cookie, and they all look yummy, but i am a good ole fashioned oatmeal raisin girl! When i was preggars hubbys best friend was a night time college student, father of newborn twins during the day. He would call me (picture porn call with lots of heavy breathing) and in a breathy voice say "guess what i'm doing .... i'm dunking cookies! It was usually torturous as i tried not to keep "evil food" in the house with fears of weight gain.

  3. I love a nice spicy ginger cookie. I'll take a pound of those please!

    ReplyDelete
  4. They all look so good! I'd have to go with the oatmeal... I bet she'd make an amazing snickerdoodle, too!

    ReplyDelete
  5. The choc chip of course. I'd love to see oatmeal choc chip. Too many raisins in oatmeal cookies these days, and not enough choc chips!

    ReplyDelete
  6. The cookies look fabulous. I'd love a gluten-free biscotti. ;-D

  7. Excellent cookie photos!!! I can almost taste those chocolate chip cookies right now!

    My fave...macaroons!

  8. OMFG! COOKIES! The biscotti looks great. I'd like to see some hazelnut something or other and a good chewey type cookie with cherries or cranberries.

  9. YUM!

Those cookies look so fresh and delicious that I'd like to eat them right out of the screen!

They all look delicious, but I have a weakness for cookies with interesting ingredients thrown in for texture and flavor, like the almond biscotti.

And I second the vote for cranberries!

Oh man... I think I want the biscotti! They just look so awesome! Or maybe choc chip! Because I love them. Not a raisin fan, but would love to see oatmeal choc chip! And the Lavender idea sounds great. And I was thinking an earl gray tea flavor cookies! I bet that's awesome too!

  11. I can't decide between the ginger snaps or the biscotti with almonds & chocolate. I love chewy ginger snaps and dipping biscotti into coffee.

No contest, I'd like the chocolate/almond biscotti. For the next cookie, I suggest chocolate chip with red chile. It's extremely good!

  13. I'd like either peanut butter chocolate chip or snickerdoodles!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I love ginger snaps, but am so particular about texture, I'd go with the oatmeal raisin. I wish she'd make a good peanut butter cookie

  15. Ginger snaps. Always, always, ginger snaps

    (Or oatmeal.)

  16. Mmmm, chocolate chip... sans walnuts though. Give me plain ol' every time!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Chocolate chip with toasted walnut ... yum yum yum!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Chocolate Chip with Roasted Walnut Cookies or maybe the biscotti. If I win, I'll decide. They look heavenly and since I live about 1/2 drive from Princeton, maybe I could just pick them up so they'll be extra fresh.

  19. Mmmmm. I would love me some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. My fave all the way. I think she should add those to the line up!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I blogged too! I looooove cookies!

    ReplyDelete
  21. A very peanutty chewy cookie would be yummy. I love nuts. Those biscotti look fantastic.

Oooh, those ginger cookies look amazing. Also, that mug/plate set in the last photo...the color is perfection!

    ReplyDelete
  24. The chocolate chips sounds great!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh do those look good. I am a chocolate person. I think I'd go for either the biscotti or the chocolate chip cookies. Maybe she should offer combo packs of the customer's choice.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I would normally head straight for the chocolate chip, but after reading the descriptions, I think I would have to try the Ginger Snaps!!

My mom has a really old fashioned Lemon Raisin cookie that is to die for. I'd like to see those made sometime.

Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to submit my comment and get back to licking the delicious cookie photos...

  27. Yum, those cookies look so nice! I've often said that if there were no other desserts in the world except for cookies, I'd be OK with that!

I also posted your contest on my own blog [for all four of my readers (:^)]: sockknittinglibrarian.blogspot.com

Ginger cookies are my absolute passion and hers look _marvelous_.

Oh. My. Gawd. Those are some fantabulous looking cookies. I can smell the chocolate from here. Definitely Chocolate Chip with Walnut. Holy cow. Scrumptious. Can't wait to taste them; gotta order me some. Yum!!! And I've blogged about this totally cool contest on my livejournal--goldiebug.livejournal.com Thanks!

I'd love to try the biscotti. Sound wonderful. Or maybe the chocolate chips.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Mmm....definitely the gingersnaps. I make chocolate chip, oatmeal with cranberries and/or macadamias and white chips, and variations on sugar cookies all the time but I never make gingersnaps even though I love them. (which is probably good for my waistline, but still....)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Those look like some powerfully good cookies. Yummy. I think I'd pick the chocolate chip cookies. I can almost smell them right here.

I will blog about them shortly.

  32. I've just blogged about the contest on elaine-knitting.blogspot.com

Thanks for the chance to savor some great-looking cookies.

  33. Chocolate Chip with Roasted Walnut Cookies sound delightful. I would love to taste a chocolate raspberry cookie...maybe she'll add those.

Favorite sounding are the choc chip and the biscotti with choc chip. Tough choice.

How about a chocolate chocolate chip cookie. Sort of a death by chocolate.

    ReplyDelete
  36. What about augmenting the fabulous-sounding chocolate chip cookies with either dried raspberries or cranberries or cherries.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The biscotti sound like my type of cookie, but then most of them do.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anonymous3:12 PM

I think I would like the chocolate chips with walnuts. I love walnuts and chocolate chips.

  39. I'm tied between the ginger snaps and the oatmeal raisin. The next one I'd love to see would be chocolate chip/chunk WITHOUT nuts, as I don't go for walnuts or pecans. The biscotti with almonds sounds really good, too!

I guess if I win, I'd like to have an assortment. Hubby could have the ones with the walnuts!

    Thanks for a contest!

  40. They all look tasty! If I could only have one though I'd have to go with the gingersnaps.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'd sugggest Chocolate Chip with NO nuts. And also a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. But they are all making me hungry right now!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I just realized there was more than one type of biscotti. I'd vote for the biscotti with the chocolate chips in them, or the chocolate chip cookies. Or a mixture of them. Sigh

    ReplyDelete
  43. Carla4:21 PM

My favorite are chocolate chip cookies with nuts sounds great, or the biscotti with chocolate chips and nuts.

New types? I'd suggest either adding some dried fruit to either of them, or making the dough chocolate.

    Yum, yum, yum.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'd suggest some mixed cookies with the customer selecting 2 or three types. Assortments are always nice when you get to choose the assortment.

My assortment would be chocolate chip and the biscotti with chocolate chips.

I was just at a meeting and for the break they had cookies. I thought I was getting cc but it was oatmeal raisin - yuck. Way to ruin a cookie.

    ReplyDelete
  45. hmmm. tough choice.

The best cookie I ever had, EVER, was a Vegan ginger cookie. Really, it was. And I'm not Vegan, so that wasn't a factor. It was just fabulous.

So I would like to put Imperial Cookies Ginger to the test!

Wish for future cookies. Let me just say one word: Almond.

I would happily leave your mention on my blogs but neither is the right kind of blog for this. One is a fictional book I'm doing as a blog, www.leifsstory.blogspot.com, and one for my son, afghanistantourofduty.blogspot.com.
Best of luck to your friend. If she sends me an extra pound, I'll send them to the boys overseas.

    :-)

  47. What beautiful cookies!

  48. What gorgeous photos of splendid cookies - gained 2 lbs just reading the descriptions! Would have loved the Chocolate Chip except for the dreaded white chocolate - so guess my choice would be the Biscotti w/ Roasted Almonds and Chocolate Chips, which sound fantastic. Favorite new cookie? chocolate chip with roasted walnuts, twice as many Callebaut chunks, and no white chocolate - now that would be heaven for this cookie lover!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Those DO look good.. and now I've the urge to go and bake cookies. Or to just buy some and eat them, - because I'm a terrible baker.

Anyway, the oatmeal raisin ones..mm.. my favorite.

  50. ooouuuu... Chocolate chip cookies (my all time favorite cookie) with semi-sweet and Belgian white chocolate and roasted walnuts. Yum.

    ReplyDelete
  51. If she listed an address I would be in the car right now! They all look so delicious, but I am a huge fan of Ginger Snaps, and these look big and yummy. How many calories in just clicking on the photos?!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yum.....look at those gingersnaps!
I guess the other cookies I would like to see are snickerdoodles and maybe peanut butter!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wow! They all sound delicious but what I have been really craving lately are Biscotti! I think the almond biscotti sound delicious!

  54. I love ginger snaps:)Hugs Darcy

  55. They all sound mouthwatering. I think though that the Biscotti with Toasted Almonds and Chocolate has the others beat though in my world. My husband and I love tea and dunking and Italian treat in the tea would be quite the taste. My husband is Italian and he loves biscotti.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think it's illegal to post such mouthwatering images, knowing full well, the cupboard is bare of Imperial Cookies.
I vote for oatmeal raisins. I ordered some and they were mind blowing scrumptious.

    ReplyDelete
  57. yum! I didn't know you could actually buy food on etsy. The chocolate walnut ones sound the best to me. I'll second the lavender idea that someone had earlier for a new flavor.

The cookies all look amazing (hence my motivation to enter the contest...)!

I am quite oldfashioned, and in a reasonable way addicted to both chocolate and nuts. Having both in anything is awesome!

I would just love having some of those Chocolate Chip with roasted walnuts. They sound crunchy, with lots of bite and flavour, which I love.
An idea for the future: I would love to see bergamot oil as a flavouring :)

  59. Wow, those look delish! I would love to have the chance to "share" a pound of chocolate chip cookies :)

I would love to see a peanut butter chocolate chip as well!

  60. The ginger cookies look and sound fantabulous. How about an oatmeal walnut with white chocolate cookie? :D

    ReplyDelete
  61. I would dive into a pile of Ginger Snaps. It's so hard to find good ones! (And, I find, hard to find a good recipe for them too)

    ReplyDelete
  62. The ginger snaps look fabulous. I think she should consider making a Craisin cookie as well!

Hmm, I would love to try the biscotti with my 3 o'clock cup of coffee. But I do love chocolate chip too...

As for a suggestion? Well it's getting to be fall so maybe a chewy apple spice cookie or a pumpkin cookie. Double chocolate is good and soft shortbread is just wonderful. I do like oatmeal raisin but I soak my raisins in hot orange juice for ten minutes so they're super soft cause I don't really like raisins that much.
